Spring Couture Shows 2013 – High fashion goes haywire

Spring Couture shows 2013 have surprised and confused – high fashion with an experimental whimsy. Christian Dior’s collection had a subtle Eastern flare, with oriental flowers and formal Asian cuts.
Valentino went girly. The dress pictured below, while not innately beautiful, has fresh design and inspiration not usually seen from the classically elegant design house.
Giambattista Valli went super nouveau, although the stunning yellow dress of the collection was a youthful injection of bold brights.
Elie Saab never disappoints and the gracious beaded detailing is timeless. The addition of a shoulder slung blazer added a 90’s retro edge I love, while the playful stencil dress is more statement than beauty.
Chanel delivered some extremely left field dresses, and standard suits. An odd collection from Karl and an unexciting follow-up to the oddly specifically styled mod collection of last season. See it online….if you want
